Having worked in the health insurance market for over 20 years, Johnsie is an experienced Managed Care Negotiator with skills in the Payer/Provider Relations, Network Development, and Contracting arenas. She is an expert in negotiating contracts with physicians, hospitals, and ancillary providers for Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare, and TRICARE reimbursement. Her strengths include building provider networks; educating, training and servicing physicians; planning Provider and Community Relations events; developing policies, procedures, and presentations; and simultaneously managing multiple projects.
Johnsie has a passion for improving healthcare outcomes for everyone through ensuring that Provider and Community relationships are built for success. During her tenure at BlueCross BlueShield, Johnsie managed and directed the Network Development, Contracting and Provider Relations efforts for 2 regions. She negotiated contract terms with physicians, physician groups, ancillaries and hospitals. In addition, she marketed payer products, such as Patient Centered Medical Homes (PCMHs), Pay for Performance, and ACOs to the medical community and managed relationships to secure long-term commitments and lower costs. She identified key partners and facilitated the creation of PCMHs, utilized financial analyses to develop reimbursement rate proposals, and built new provider networks to help her clients compete in narrow network markets (notably Medicaid and Medicare in for BlueCross and as a consultant) and win large contracts. She has also determined network adequacy, directed Medicaid capitation processes, wrote policies and procedures, and planned Provider and Community Relations events.
