This enables her to understand issues from various stakeholder perspectives, including that of Medicaid agency, contract manager, managed care company, member advocate, and provider advocate.
Prior to joining Optimetra as a consultant, Laura was the Corporate Director of Anthem’s LTSS & IDD Clinical Operations team, which provided LTSS and IDD expertise across the enterprise to multiple state health plans and numerous corporate departments (e.g. training, quality, clinical systems database management, strategy, and innovation teams). She also supported and partnered with state health plans to guide and ensure successful new program implementations.
Laura’s previous positions include Health Services Department Director for the Molina New Mexico health plan where she was responsible for efficiency of the department’s daily operations (including case management and utilization management); four years with New Mexico Medicaid; two years managing the state’s EQRO contract program; and two years promoting, implementing, and managing the contract for the state’s innovative Coordination of Long Term Services (CoLTS) program.
